Hillside Gardens Sustainable Travel Information

This site has been produced to provide detailed travel information for people living and working in and around Hillside Gardens, Pinhoe.

Welcome to the Go Pinhoe Sustainable Travel Website.

This site has been produced to offer information on sustainable travel options for people living and working in and around the David Wilson Homes and Barratt Homes Hillside Gardens development in Pinhoe.

The site offers information on the walking, cycling and public transport facilities in and around Hillside Gardens making it as easy as possible for you to plan your travel arrangements, whether it is your daily commute or meeting up with friends in Exeter for an evening out.

The site is one of the measures offered by David Wilson Homes and Barratt Homes as part of the Travel Plan for the Hillside Gardens site. The Travel Plan seeks to minimise reliance on the private car, and in particular aims to cut the number of single occupancy cars travelling to and from Hillside Gardens each day.

The website will be regularly updated with news about Travel Plan initiatives, events and will provide updates on the progress of the Travel Plan in reducing reliance in car use over the next five years.

A Travel Plan is basically a list of actions, which will be undertaken by the sites developer, David Wilson Homes and Barratt Homes, in order to help people travelling to and from Hillside Gardens to rely less on the private cars and make a considered choice about the alternatives.

The Travel Plan was produced as part of the planning application for the site, and the consent for the site requires that the Travel Plan is implemented in order to minimise the impact of the development on local congestion

How you travel is a very personal choice, and Go Pinhoe has not been produced to force you out of your car.
However, many people forget that they have a choice about how they travel and we hope to offer information on the alternatives so that you can make an informed decision the next time you travel.
As some one who has recently moved home or started a new job, now is a great time to think seriously about your travel choices.
At the end of the day, by choosing to leave your car at home you could save yourself some money, get fitter and reduce your environmental impact, so what do you have to lose?

A Travel Plan Co-ordinator (TPC) is a person responsible for delivering the measures and initiatives set out in the Travel Plan. They are also the first point of contact for residents and employees at Hillside Gardens, for issues around travel.
It is the TPCs responsiblity to liaise with all interested stakeholders, including: residents, employees, developers, Devon County Council Officers, public transport companies and local police officers.
At Hillside Gardens, David Wilson Homes and Barrat Homes have appointed Key Transport Consultants as TPC. Victoria Watkins is the main contact and she can be contacted on the email address below.
